“The redevelopment endeavor under the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project is being undertaken in order to make resident’s homes more spacious and to provide them with a new environment and atmosphere that leads to the growth and open-mindedness of thought and is more favorable to their health and well-being.”

- His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA)

His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) is the 52nd leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Community.

The name - Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project, combines His Holiness’s own name and that of his revered father, Dr. Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA), in a project that is inspired by the commitment of both Dai’s to the community they have jointly led through the entire sweep of the twentieth century.

To the concept of charity, Dr. Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) gave a significant connotation in consonance with Fatemi faith. He established various public charitable trusts to promote altruistic endeavours.

The 52nd Dai al-Mutlaq, His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA), following the footsteps of his illustrious father, has not only consolidated the works of his predecessor, but has also led the Dawoodi Bohra Community into an era of fresh vibrancy and renewed zeal by devoting his efforts to the preservation of Fatemi heritage. He has also set up several religious and charitable institutions around the globe for the sake of humanity. Each of these institutions are established for specific objectives aiming to aid the needy and deserving in a way that eliminates dependency and encourages self-reliance, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty and improving the quality of life.

Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) envisioned uplifting the standard of living of the people residing under the umbrella of Raudat Tahera, through launching a scheme in the congested area known as ‘Bhendi Bazaar’ in C ward of Greater Mumbai.
